Wedding and Reception Venue FAQ’s

The staff at Pipers By The Lake are dedicated to making your special day perfect and run smoothly. To help make the process easier, we have compiled a list of the most common questions asked by couples. What is your guest capacity for a cocktail wedding reception?
We can cater for 150+ guests for a cocktail wedding reception.

What is your guest capacity for a sit down wedding reception?
We recommend no more than 100 guests for a sit down wedding reception.

Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?
Yes we do. Any of your guests with allergies or specific dietary requirements can be catered for. We require the specific dietary needs two weeks prior to your wedding date, from there our Head Chef will assess the specific requirements, and arrange an alternative meal to be provided.

Do you have a room hire fee?
There is a small room hire fee of $500. For your wedding reception we will be closing our restaurant early to allow us time to set up, and prepare for your guests arrival. This is when we make sure the room and each table is set up to perfection. The Room will be booked from 6.30pm until 12.00pm.

Is there a cost for my guests to park?
No, there is ample free parking at our front door.

Is there a noise ordinance we should be aware of?
Regulations restrict us from having music played beyond 12.00 am.

When does the bar close?
Legally the bar must be closed 30 mins prior to the completion of your reception. Please note we have a responsible service of alcohol policy.

Can we arrive early?
Wedding receptions commence at 6.30pm. Earlier commencement times can be arranged at an additional charge. We do require the bride and groom to agree that they will adhere to the nominated start and finish times for their reception. All evening receptions have an end time no later than 12.00am (midnight), with all guests required to vacate the building no later than 12.15am. Alcohol will cease to be served half an hour prior to the nominated finish time.

Can we use our wedding cake as dessert?
Yes, we can  serve  your wedding cake per person sided with fruit and double cream or served in bags or on a platter. Either option for a small service charge.

Is there a charge to cut our wedding cake?
Absolutely not! We consider it our pleasure to cut your beautiful wedding cake. Our Chef will carefully cut your cake and place it into cake bags. Please note cake bags will need to be provided by yourself, and given to our restaurant prior to your reception.

Do you provide a cake knife?
Yes.

Who will set up the room?
Pipers by the Lake’s dedicated and experienced staff are more than happy to assist with some styling of the room. This will include setting up your arranged table centre pieces, tea light candles, wishing wells, guest signing books and specific styling for our gorgeous book case. We are more than happy to talk with you further regarding any extra styling requirements. Please note than any additional setting up and styling done by staff members may come at an extra cost.

Do you provide chair covers?
No we don’t. We have had wedding receptions in the past that have used a local small business to provide chair covers.

Am I required to take my entire decorations home on the night of the reception?
Pipers by the Lake can carefully store your items in our secure storage shed, which is located outside the restaurant. Please note that Pipers by the Lake will not take responsibility should any items become damaged in storage. Items are required to be collected within 5 days of your reception.
